Cheromei wins Yokohama Women's Marathon

YOKOHAMA, Japan - Kenya's Lydia Cheromei crosses the finish line to win the Yokohama Women's Marathon in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Nov. 18, 2012. Cheromei ran uncontested after the 15 kilometer-point and finished in a race record of 2 hours, 23 minutes, 7 seconds.

FUKUOKA, Japan - Olympic and world champion Gezahegne Abera (R) of Ethiopia and Japan's Tsuyoshi Ogata run neck and neck at the 41-kilometer point in the Fukuoka International Marathon on Dec. 1. Abera, the gold medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the world championships in Edmonton, Canada, in August 2001, won the race in a time of 2 hours, 9 minutes, 13 seconds.
